Judy volunteered to be the representative from the Aurora Public Library Board to the Friends’ Board. As a fourth generation Coloradoan, Judy grew up in southwest Denver with her two brothers and sister. Her father was a Denver firefighter and her mother was a homemaker. Judy was married to her late husband, Peter, for 48 years and has a grown daughter and son.
She retired from Aurora Public Library after thirty years in 2008 and prior to that she worked in banking for a short time. While at the library, Judy served on many committees and was chosen as the Employee of the Year for 1992. She was very involved in Girl Scouts for many years with her daughter. Judy has been on the Aurora Genealogical Society of Colorado’s Board for the past twelve years as the Vice President of Program and Publicity. In December 2012 she was awarded membership in the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution and soon will be a board member of her chapter.
Always an avid reader and library aficionado, Judy enjoys reading mysteries, history and genealogy.
