AURORA — Savannah Isely and her family came to Colorado from northwest Kansas on a recent day to pick up her father flying in from Philadelphia.
They stayed over an extra night just so they could shop at the Friends of the Aurora Public Library Book Outlet.
In fact, the family makes the three-hour drive to Aurora from Bird City, Kan., a handful of times a year to shop at the Book Outlet, usually leaving with three boxes full of inexpensive used books.
“We are big book readers,” Isely said. “In Kansas, there aren’t many libraries where we live, so we come here.”
