I want to get the word out that there are opportunities in the back room for anyone who likes to work hard and get dirty! Sorters are needed. We have big and small sections available that need someone who can commit to working at least 1 day a week for 3 hours, sometimes more depending on the section. Availability anytime on Fridays is definitely a plus. If you are interested or maybe a little curious please let me know. I would be more than happy to have you come back and check it out. Sorters are responsible for:
- Putting donated books into the right area for that topic (section)
- Using established guidelines to price and stock books on the sales floor and in back
- Ensuring that the shelves on the sales floor are well stocked especially during sales
- Removing non-selling books from the sales floor (culling)
I have to be honest. The back room folks work very hard. It is dirty and sometimes sweaty work. They work quickly as there is often many books to sort.
