Library’s Friends looking for used books

Got books? The Friends of the Aurora Public Library wants them. And DVDs. And CDs. And so on.

The Friends of the Aurora Public Library (FAPL) is encouraging residents to donate their “gently used” books, both paperback and hardbound, CDs, DVDs, videos, audio tapes and records to the Friends to help support the city’s four remaining public libraries.

Donations can be left at FAPL’s used book store, the Book Outlet, at 2243 So. Peoria St. in the Iliff Square Shopping Center. The Book Outlet is open Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Friday, from 4:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. All donations are tax deductible.

For more information, contact FAPL at 720-747-7977 or visit FAPL online at www.fapl.info.

Proceeds from the sales of books and videos through the Book Outlet benefit the Aurora Public Library, providing funding for the acquisition of new volumes as well as youth programs, including the summer reading program. Last year, FAPL was able to donate more than $50,000 to support the Aurora Public Library system.
