To help celebrate Public Health Week, our Membership Coordinator, Denise, delivered children’s books to the Douglas County Health Department. Their Maternal and Child Divisions gives the books to kiddos at food banks, and during immunization clinics and well-child care visits.

It’s a little hard to celebrate here in landlocked Colorado, but you could still re-read Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid (or maybe watch the Disney version which has a happier ending).
With the new book James (a reimagining of Huckleberry Finn) coming out – what are your thoughts on retellings and reimaginings? There are so many fairytales that lend themselves to new stories, and what about those fanfiction tales that are being edited so they can be published? Do you read reimaginings? Do you have a favorite?
