International Mother Language Day

Did you know that over 160 languages are spoken in Aurora Public Schools? As a native English speaker I can’t imagine needing to learn English just to be able to learn, but for many students across the world their mother tongue is not even allowed to be spoken, much less taught. Today is a good day to reflect on what it takes to learn another language.

Clean Out Your Bookcase Day

Who knew there was an official day? I usually do it at the beginning of the year, to get my TBR shelf ready for reading challenges during the year, but February 20th seems like as good a day as any!

If you do decide to celebrate, remember we love your cast offs! or consider dropping some books in your local Little Free Library.
